CHAPTER 15: The Hunger Games

1. Who forms an alliance with Katniss?

The person who forms an alliance with Katniss is...RUE! They met up in a tree, Rue warned Katniss about the Jabber Jay nest that was hanging above her head.

 

 

2. How does this alliance benefit both parties?

It benefits both parties because, they could share their supplies. Plus, double the people, double the food. Also they could share strategies, and maybe one may have something that the other needs like for example medicine. So there are a lot of benefits in forming an alliance.

 

 

3. What are some differences between District 11 and District 12?

Some differences between District 11 and 12 is that they are more strict than District 12. If the mayor or anybody else sees you eating crops, the mayor will whip you and make everybody watch. They are always on their toes, so even if you think about it, they'll know. Whereas in District 12, Katniss and Gale have been in the woods for a while and no one has caught them, if they did they would've been whipped on a daily basis.

CHAPTER 14: The Hunger Games

1. Who helps Katniss escape from the Careers? How?

The person that helps Katniss escape from the Careers is a boy named Rue. She points out that there is a tracker Jacker nest above her, and Katniss gets an idea. She is thinking that during the Anthem, she would saw off the branch it was on with her knife, so it would fall on the Careers and Peeta.

2. What does Haymitch send Katniss?

Haymitch sends Katniss a small pot of medicine. She thinks that the medicine must have taken a lot of sponsors to buy. The medicine is for her burns on her hands and calf. It ease the pain.

3. What does Katniss get from Glimmer's body? Why is this so important to her?

Katniss gets the bow and sheath of arrows from Glimmer right before the hovercraft comes and takes her dead body away. These are important to her because they remind her of when she hunted with her father and she is good with them. They are now her weapon.

4. What does Peeta do when he finds her?

Peeta gets mad at Katniss. He asks her what's she still doing there. He tells her to get up and run, because the surviving Careers are coming after her. 

5. What are the effects of the tracker Jacker stings on Katniss?

The effects of the tracker Jacker stings on Katniss are that she is seeing things. She keeps tripping over branches and stuff.  Some of the things she sees are ants crawling up her, and a butterfly the size of a house, and trees transforming into blood, when none of it is really there.

CHAPTER 13:The Hunger Games

1.What new threat does Katniss face?
     The new threat that Katniss faces is a wall of fire. The fire is making it hard for Katniss to breathe! Katniss knows that the Gamemakers are doing this, maybe to try to get her to get closer to the Career tributes or to make the games for interesting. The gamemakers are also throwing fire balls at her!

2.How do the Gamemakers control the events of the games?
      The gamemakers control what happens in the games. They control the weather and they can make difficult obstacles for the tributes to face to make the games more exciting. They can also kill a tribute or bring the tributes together to make it way more exciting!

3.What slows Katniss down?
      The thing that slows Katniss down is her breathing and her leg! One of the fire balls that was coming down from the sky hit Katniss on her calf muscle!

4.Who finds Katniss?
     The Career tributes find Katniss! Katniss can hear them coming towards her so she finds the highest tree and starts climbing it!

CHAPTER 12: The Hunger Games

1. What is Katniss struggling to find?

Katniss is struggling to find water .She thinks the only water source is the one were she started.Katniss get so tiered that she falls and when she does she feels mud.That is when she found something to drink because she found a pond.

 

2. In what ways is Katniss “playing the game”?

Katniss is hiding in the trees like camouflageing herself.And Katniss does this so she can sleep to rest up.She is going the opposite direction of where the career tributes are.she is staying away from the gamemakers trick to get tributes together.Finding food and how to cook it is like traping bunnies. 

 

3. Why doesn’t Haymitch send Katniss water?

Haymitch doesn't send water because he knows katniss was close to a water sorce.She did she found a pond filled with lilies and fish.Haymitch knows what he is doing so he didnt send the water.Katniss had to wait and put something in the water to be able to drink it.

1.Why does Peeta reveal his love for Katniss? Do you think he really loves her?Why or why not?
Peeta reveals his love for Katniss because he wants the audience to know and Katniss.Maybe Katniss knew or maybe not!I think yes and no.I think yes because because they been nice to each other and close.Exceot when he said it in the interview.And when he stared to blush .I think no also because it says in the book that Haymitch told him to do it to make her look weak?!

2.What is Peeta's main concern during the hunger games?
Peeta's main concern during the hunger games is if he's ever gona see her(i think).And by dying like him self.

3.How does the Capitol view the previous arenas of the hunger games?How many games have there been?
Idk the first question:(There's been 74 Hunger games.

4.What do you feel is the purpose of the hunger games?
I feel that the purpose of the hunger games is that to see the strengths of each Districts.Also that you could see who is stronger.And then also to see where they come from.:)

CHAPTER 10: The Hunger Games

1.Why does Peeta reveal his love for Katniss? Do you think he really loves her? Why or why not?
Headmitted it so he could become more popular with the people watching
and to get more sponsors for him and Katniss. . But I don't think he is
telling the truth and  Haymitch told him to say something like
that.Which will probably get her more mad at Haymitch.

2. What is Peeta’s main concern during the hunger games? 
He doesn't want to die. But if he does he wants to die with his dignity
and like himself not like a monster that will do anything to stay alive.

3. How does the Capitol view the previous arenas of the hunger games? How many games have there been?

 There are many different kinds of hard arenas that seem to be really bad over the years.There have been games held in deserts,swamps,and wast lands. The games have been held in many other places.There has been a couple of  games over the past years.To be spesific they had seventy-four games. 

4.What do you feel is the purpose of the hunger games? 

I think it's a wonderful but horrible idea to have the hunger games.It's good purpose because it shows people there place.To never rebel again and to follow orders.It's a bad purpose because children have to fight to the death thats not fair for those poor children.They should think of other  ways of keeping people from rebelling.Show them that they do care about there people instead of having the games and booming district 13 .

CHAPTER 9:The Hunger Games

1. Describe Katniss’ interview attire and training? What affect do you think it had on the audience?

Katniss' attire was a dress completely covered in precious gems, red, yellow, and white with bits of blue. Katniss' training was tough because Haymitch didn't know how to describe Katniss even though he asked her fifty questions.The affect that i think that affected the audience was that Katniss didn't know what to say because she was nervous. Katinss was stage frightened because there was a lot of people. 

2. How does Haymitch and Cinna ask Katniss to behave?

Haymitch tells Katniss to lie. Cinna tells Katniss to be herself and try to tell the truth.Cinna also tellsKatniss even though she says a lie the truth is horrible just try it.

 

3. What do we discover about Peeta during his interview?

We discover that Peeta had a crush on Katniss ever since he met her.
