CHAPTER 4 QUESTIONS: The Hunger Games

1. Do you think Haymitch will be helpful as a mentor? Why or why not?
I partly don't think he will be a good mentor because most of the time he is drunk and he just hit Peeta because he got mad at him.But he might be a good one because he has already gone through the games.

2. What does Katniss mean when she says: “A Kind Peeta Mellark is far more dangerous to me than an unkind one”?
I think she means that kind people mess with her more .She might fall for their lies easily.
Its a problem because if he is acting nicewith her, it will be harder for her to kill him. If it was an unkind person she wouldn't have that much of a problem.
3.      What happens to convince Haymitch that Peeta and Katniss might be fighters?
Peeta drops Haymitch’s glass on the floor and Haymitch punches Peeta in the jaw. Then Katniss drives her knife between Haymitch’s hand and the bottle he was about to pick up. That is when Haymitch actually considers if those two might be fighters.

4.       What is the first honest advice Haymitch gives them?
Haymitch tells Katniss and Peeta to let their stylist do whateverthey wanted to them without them two protesting.
Quotes

3. "'No,' says Haymitch, stopping him. 'Let the bruise show. The audience will think you've mixed it up with another tribute before you've even made it to the arena.'" Pg. 57
4. "All of the pieces are still fitting together, but i sense he has a plan forming. He hasn't accepted his death. He is already fighting hard to stay alive. Which also means that kind Peeta Mellark, the boy who gave me the bread, is fighting hard to kill me." Pg. 60
