CHAPTER 23-27: The Hunger Games

Chapter 23

 

1. Why does Thresh's death affect Katniss?

Katniss gets very sad and confused.She said one less to kill 

a strong one so she

 should be happy but she isn't happy.She isn't happy 

because he let her go.She has a strong sorrow/sadness over his death.

 

2. Who is left in the arena?

Their are only five tributes left in the arena.Cato from district 2 he is the only one left from his district.District 11 only has Thrash left.District 5 only has Foxface.District 12 has both tributes Katniss and Peeta.

 

3. What Katniss' fears if she wins the Games?

Katniss fear she will do what Haymitch does.After she wins she has to train the girl from district 12 in the future.That will be job after the games if she wins.She will have to watch those tributes die.

 

4. What happens to Foxface?

Foxface steels cheese and berries from Katniss and Peeta.The berries she got are poisonous.she ate then so Foxface die eating berries.A person dies before the berries get to her stomach

 

 

 

 

Chapter 24

1. How do the Gamemakers try to drive the last tributes together?

The gamemakes drain the streams.They drain the ponds.The gamemakers drain every water score except the lake.

 

2. How does Katniss feel about Cato?

She feels bad for cato no matter what hes done.She want him to stop suffering.The mutts don't kill him just suffer.He is just a bloody mess after the attack.

 

3. How do the final three meet up?

Cato gets an arrow in the fore head.After the mutts he is bleeding and weak and Katniss finishes him off so he is gone.They meet up in the cornucopia.Then the last 2 by the lake but they both live.

 

 

 

 

Chapter 25

1. What attacks the last three tributes?

Some creature a wolf mix with a dog is what Katniss thinks that they are.Then she thinks the capital creates some new creature.Then she realize that the mutts are all of the tributes that have died.She notice when she sees one with green eyes is Glimmer so there like humans with like a wolf mixed bred.

 

2. How does Katniss use her last arrow?

Katniss uses her last arrow to finish the games.She  uses the last arrow to hit Cato in the forehead to kill him.

 

3. What happens when the Gamemakers revoke the rule change?

The two tributes Katniss and Peeta don't want to kill each other.So they  decide to eat poison berries on three so they don't have to kill each other.But then they spit out the berries and wash out there mouth.

 

4. Who wins the Hunger Games?

Katniss Everdeen and Peeta Mallarkwin win the 74 hunger games.These two tributes are from district 12.

 

 

 

 

 

Chapter 26

1. How does the Capitol heal Katniss?

The Capital heals Katniss by connecting a lot tube to her body.The tubes are sending like a clear liquid in to her vains.That is how Katniss describes the time in the hopital.When she tried to get up a liquid would go into her vain and she would like pass out.

2. What does Haymitch reveal to Katniss before she sees the crowd?

Haymitch reveals to Katniss before she sees the crowd that they are some what upset.The are kinda mad like a furious mad.The capital is mad because she won and proved she is so much better than them.

 

 

 

 

 

 

Chapter 27 

1. What goes on during the final interview?

They talk to them about the day of the reaping up to the days of the interviews.They look at the Games and how everybody died.Katniss practically knocks him down because he looses some of his balance.Katniss takes of her sandals and cuttle up to Peeta on the small red couch.

 

2. What happened to Peeta's leg?

Peetas leg isn't in that much of a good condition.Peeta has a metal stick with him.That metal stick is a cane to help him to be able to walk.

 

3. Why does Katniss feel torn in the end?

Katniss feels torn in the end because of the interview.In the interview they make her see everyones  death in the games.The showed all the horrible deaths that started in the begin all the way to Cato's horrible death.She feel so torn seeing her tributes that went in who help her to who spared her life and seeing the horrible mutts.

 

4. What does Peeta realize?

Peeta realizes that Katniss was pretending.She was pretending to love Peeta.He gets mad and wants to know what was real and what was fake.He realized the only reason she liked him was just because of the games.

CHAPTER 21 & 22:The Hunger Games

Chapter 21

1. Who's the first to get their pack?

The foxfaced girl gets her pack first.The girl from district 5 got her pack.

2. Who catches Katniss?

The girl from district 2 catches Katniss.The girls name is Clove.She is teamed up with Cato.The girl almost Killed Katniss.

3. Why does Thresh let Katniss go?

Thresh let Katniss go free because she at least helped Rue.She formed an allince with her and destoryed the tributes food.She kill the boy from district 1 so that she could help Rue.She put flowers on her and sings a song to her.

4. Why does Katniss think Cato will go after Thresh and not her?

Katniss thinks Cato will go after him because he took his package.Cato needs the supplies in order to stay alive.Cato needs them for extra support to win.So that are some reasons why she thinks he will go after Thresh.

Chapter 22

 

 

1. How does Katniss compare Peeta to Gale?

Katniss says Peeta is more of

 

following the rules kind of guy.That

 

doesn't make him a weak

 

person.Gale says more bad thing

 

about the Capitol and doesn't 

 

 care.Peeta would never do

 

that.Gale is more risky and brakes

 

the rule because Gale would have

 

gone into the tall grass wear Thrash

 is just like the woods

 

but Peeta didn't want to go in there

 

because it's to dangerous. 

 

 

2. What happens with the weather?

The gamemkers make it poor rain

 

like crazy.It is raining like a normal

 

day non stop. Then a little while

 

later it rain really hard.There is

 

lighting out side and that gets worst too.

 

 

3. How does Katniss get the feast?

Katniss gets the feast by listing to

 

Haymitch.She act more in love with

 

Peeta.She does so by asking him

 

why and when did he start to like

 

her.He gives her the whole story

 

and it starts from the first day of

 

school.

CHAPTER 20: The Hunger Games

1. What is Peeta's condition?

Peeta is in really bad shape.He is all covered in mud and has roots like growing on his.He has four tracker jacker stings.Has a burn across his chest.He has a really bad fever.

 

2. How do the Gamemakers try to entice the tributes? What does Katniss think they have for her?

 

 

 3. What does Haymitch send Katniss? Why?

The gamemakers try to entice the tributes with not a feast but a package with the number of the  district.All of the packages are going to  be in the cornucopia.Katniss thinks they have some sort of medicine for Peeta's hurt leg.Haymitch sends Katniss sleeping medicine.Haymitch gives her the medicine so that Peeta can sleep and she can go get the package.

CHAPTER 19: The Hunger Games

1. How does Katniss find Peeta?

Katniss finds Peeta by going back pass the burned campsite.Climbed up some rock to a new piece she has not seen.She calls out to him and he makes some noise.She goes and sees him under her feet in a cave.

2. What is Peeta's true talent?

Peetas true talent is camouflage.He is good because he puts the icing on the cake gave him a good advantage.He is really good at it and convincing.He put mud and twigs on him to blend in with the ground.

3. How does Katniss treat Peeta's wound?

Katniss puts that burn cream on him.She puts those leaves on the wasp sting on his body.She put leaves on the cut tries to clean out all the pus.She wraps it in a white band so that it could heal with the time.

4. Where do they hide out?

They both hide out under a cave.The cave has a lot of mud.The cave has a little stream out side.

5. How and why do they get the pot of broth?

The got there pot of broth because Katniss kisses Peeta.Katniss didn't kiss him on the check but on his lips.Haymitch send them food for that one kiss so peeta would eat.food for that one kiss so peeta would eat.

CHAPTER 18: The Hunger Games

1. What does Katniss do for Rue?

Katniss first, kills the boy from District 1. Then Katniss sings for Rue as her final request. She sings her 'to sleep'. Just as she finishes the lullaby, Rue's cannon fires. After she is dead, she decorates her body in flowers, to make her death unforgettable. 

 

 

2. Who sponsors a gift for her? What is it?

Haymitch sends her, a loaf of bread from District 11, Rue's home.

 

 

3. How does Katniss' attitude change after Rue's death? 

Katniss feels that after Rue died, she feels the urge to show the capitol that they don't own her, that she's more than just a piece in the Games. She also feels she has to win for Rue.

 

 

4. What rule change do the Gamemakers announce?

The rule change the Gamemakers announce is that there will be two winners, both tributes from the same district are allowed to win. That means Peeta and Katniss could both win.

CHAPTER 17: The Hunger Games

1. What happens to Katniss in the explosion?

In the explosion, Katniss damages her hearing. So, at the moment she can't hear right. 

 

 

2. Why does Katniss leave the rendezvous point?

She leaves the place because after waiting for a long time, Rue doesn't show up, so she gets worried. So Katniss goes to look for her around the woods,  where she might be.

 

 

3. What happens to Rue?

Rue gets......KILLED!!!!!! When Katniss was looking for her, she heard Rue scream. Then when she got to her, she was trapped in a net. As Katniss was trying to set her free, a boy from District 1 shoots an arrow in her stomach.

CHAPTER 16: The Hunger Games

1. What is Katniss' offensive attack?

Katniss' offensive attack is, Rue will start a fire to lure the Careers over there while Katniss destroyed all the supplies they had. Then Rue will start a second, then third fire. 

 

 

2. In what ways are the Careers at a disadvantage?

The Careers are at disadvantage now because Katniss blew up their supplies, so they don't have all the things that they had. 

 

 

3. What important information does Rue provide?

Rue tells Katniss all about the Careers hiding spot. Where all their supplies are at. This helps Katniss carry out the plan that they have begun.

 

 

4. What is Rue's favorite thing? How does this connect to Katniss?

Rue's favorite thing is...MUSIC! This connects to Katniss because it reminded her of her father because, when he sang even the birds fell silent to listen. 

5. Why can't Katniss get to the bounty of supplies? How is she able to destroy it?

Katniss can't get to the bounty of supplies because all around the ground where the supplies are, there are bombs underneath. She is able to destroy it by making on of the apples fall, and cause many explosions to destroy all the supplies.
